The vast majority of my customers want an embroidered atarah. But I can also write the blessing by hand with silk paints:
I am fortunate to have a dear friend (and member of my adult bat mitzvah class) who is an extremely talented artist. She has done quite a lot of silk painting for me. The tallit below is her version of Asiatic lillies.
These are the corners from a commissioned tallit depicting a modern Miriam. My friend painted the corners with the parting of the Red Sea, a shofar and three stars in the sky.
Here’s the latest set done by my friend who is a very talented silk painter. She made the side panels, corner squares (only 2 shown) and atarah with bright flowers. They were stitched onto a white dupioni silk tallit.
