All work is done by me (and I’m pretty neurotic about the quality of the items I produce.) I work closely with my clients thru phone, email and zoom/video meetings. When a design has been decided on, I email a sketch of what the tallit will look like before any work is begun. There are many options and clients can have as much control over the design as desired; for example: silk colors, selection of jacquard or silk trims, number/width of stripes, amount of space between and size of corner squares. I work almost exclusively with dupioni silk and imported Italian wool.
I do not work with a customer’s fabric, except for a scarf or shawl that is to be customized or a tallit that was woven on a loom. I am happy to set up a phone/video conference to discuss options for these projects. Pricing is on a case-by-case basis depending on the scope of the work.
Form-fitted tallitot for clergy or military chaplains start at $400. I can also cut down or remodel a full sized tallit into the form-fitted style by adding a lining, new corners (if requested), a new atarah (if desired) and re-tying a set of new tzitzit. Pricing starts at $200
Embroidered Atarah – starts at $75. Embroidered corners start at $20 each. Items are hemmed, pressed and ready to be sewn onto the tallit. Designs placed at the atarah ends are extra and cost is based on the complexity and number of color changes. A contrast border is an additional $50 which covers extra fabric, labor to cut the strips, sew and hem to the finished size. This often takes over an hour! If a client sends their garment to me, I can attach the embroidered pieces for an additional charge, plus return shipping.
A single silk kippah lined with a hidden buttonhole and clip is $70. A name and date inside are included. Specialty embroidered designs on the kippah are additional and determined at the time of the order. Bucharian kippot start at $90
Kosher tzitzit sets are available for $15. Cost for me to tie them is $10.
All of ther items such as wall hangings. Challah/matzah covers and wimpels are priced depending on the nature of the work.
For online payments, I accept Venmo and Zelle. If you wish to pay by credit card, I will send an invoice through Square. There is 3% cc charge for anything over $50. I will also accept a personal check.
All custom work requires a 50% deposit with the balance due before the tallit or embroidery is shipped. No exceptions.
